Fortnite UGC studio Creators Corp gets $2 million investment from Lumina

Fortnite UGC studio Creators Corp has raised $2 million from new talent and IP media group Lumina.
As reported by VentureBeat, Creators Corps will use the funds to expand its portfolio of UEFN titles in collaboration with influencers and popular IPs. The team has developed over 15 games to date and boasts over 220m active users.
Creators Corp’s titles include Steph Curry’s Run the Ring, US Open Tennis Storm, Dude Perfect Dodgeball, and Bugha’s End Game. Lumina is founded by BAFTA and Grammy-nominated producers Thomas Benski and Marisa Clifford.
Unlocking new opportunities
“Thomas and his team understand the inherent synergies between entertainment and gaming and our vision for the studio’s future aligns perfectly," said Creators Corp CEO Anne-Margot Rodde.
“The investment from Lumina will unlock new opportunities to build upon our portfolio of fan-driven games in UEFN and lay the groundwork for user-generated games on new platforms in the future.”
Benski added: “User-generated games are the next wave of entertainment, and Creators Corp. is leading that movement. Margot has demonstrated a true talent for understanding both the creator economy and the UGG space, identifying key growth opportunities.
