Highlights from Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan 2024

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, the return of Pocket Gamer Connects to Jordan proved a remarkable success, establishing itself as a milestone event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) games industry.

A record-breaking 2,500 attendees representing more than 400 companies from 30+ countries ensured a dynamic mix of speakers, game developers, publishers, and industry leaders for two days of impactful talks, immersive workshops, and high-energy networking sessions.

New additions for 2024 further bolstered the proceedings, with the Jordan Games Awards honouring innovative creators and studios shaping Jordan’s games industry, alongside the Jordan Gaming Lab App Challenge winners announcement, the Aqaba Mobile Games Hackathon results, and The Esports Management Course graduation. Held under royal patronage, these local initiatives aimed to inspire young people into pursuing a career in games development and further bolstering the local sector.

The event highlighted Jordan's growing prominence as a central player in the MENA games market, spotlighting the talent driving the nation's games industry – from promising indie developers to established studios recognised for their creativity and dedication to pushing Jordan’s regional influence.
