Project management platform Codecks has raised €1 million ($1m) in funding to accelerate its growth and expansion.

The Berlin-based firm received a €700,000 grant from the EU’s Creative Europe MEDIA program and €300,000 self-invested by the company.

Codecks plans to use its new funding to expand its features, enhance accessibility for teams of all sizes, and continue its mission of supporting game developers with an adaptable project management tool.

The company also recently strengthened its team with the hiring of ex PlaytestCloud marketing lead Gonçalo Trindade as head of marketing.

Codecks received its grant as part of Creative Europe MEDIA’s ‘Innovative Tools and Business Models' funding initiative, which supports EU technologies and IT tools. The programme awarded €8.5 million across some of Europe’s most promising companies, including Codecks.

Empowering teams worldwide

"We're committed to helping game developers make games in a way that's both effective and enjoyable," said Codecks co-founder Riad Djemili.

"This grant opens doors for us to significantly improve and expand Codecks, amplifying the tools we offer and creating new ones, making project management as fun and efficient as possible."

Co-founder and lead developer Daniel Berndt added: "With this grant, we're empowered to make that vision even bigger, with features that make Codecks more valuable for every team member-whatever their project, wherever they are in the world."
