Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery racks up $500 million in revenue

• Over half of its revenue comes from the U.S., with significant contributions from Germany, the UK, and France

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has amassed $500 million in gross revenue.

According to SensorTower estimates, the Jam City simulation game which launched in 2018 remained the top-grossing adventure simulation game in the first half of 2024. 

In fact, top-rated Hogwarts Mystery is earning five times more revenue than the game in second place, PAW Patrol Rescue World. The game was also Jam City's most downloaded game in the same period, showcasing the ongoing strong appeal of the Harry Potter IP.

Global reach 

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is Jam City’s top midcore game by revenue and its second-highest revenue-generating title, after Disney Emoji Blitz. 

Over half of its revenue comes from the U.S., with significant contributions from Germany, the UK, and France. 

In terms of downloads, the game has a global audience with Brazil and India being the second and third largest markets.

The game's monetisation is heavily driven by an energy system that limits engagement and encourages in-game purchases.
