Airline Manager maker Trophy Games' revenue rose by 56% year-over-year to DKK 24.7 million ($3.6 million) in Q3 2024.

EBITDA also grew by 69% Y/Y to DKK 4.9m ($713,000). The studio reported a 108% increase Y/Y in paying users during the quarter, at 130,408. Total transactions rose by 102% year-on-year to 331,656.

However, earnings before tax fell by 233% year-on-year to DKK -400,000 (-$58,000), attributed to the "full impairment of Airport Tycoon", which was delayed indefinitely in August after its developer, and Trophy Games subsidiary, Piu Piu was closed down.

Excluding the impairment charge, Trophy Games’ EBT would have been DKK 2.6 million ($378,000).

Planes, trucks and manager games

Across its games catalogue, Trophy Games saw installs more than double from 2.3m in Q3 2023 to six million in Q3 2024, bringing the current total for this year to 14m. That’s a 97% increase over the first nine months of 2023.

Installs were particularly driven by Airline Manager and new release Energy Manager. Trophy Games CEO Søren Gleie said that the company’s "top funnel has never been stronger" as a "consistent flow of new players" are downloading its games.

Revenue was also up over the first three quarters to at DKK 70.1 million ($10.2 million) for this year to date, versus DKK 40.1 million ($5.8 million) after Q3 2023.

This means Trophy Games’ revenue rose by 71% Y/Y in 2024, up from the 8% growth the company reported the year prior.

"The third quarter is often a slightly slower quarter for the gaming industry as it coincides with holiday and exam periods. Nevertheless, we have managed to achieve another quarter of remarkable progress," said Gleie.

"The takeover of Tivola’s games is now complete, and they are performing as expected. We could not be more excited about the future. We are releasing the much-anticipated Truck Manager shortly and we also have both Farm Manager and Space Transport Manager in production, as well as Gold Miner Manager in pre-production, and a major update on the way for Transit King Tycoon.

"Going forward, we will invest more in developing the games that are already on the market, especially Airline, Train, Energy, and Shipping Manager, as well as Transit King Tycoon."
