Clash of Clans developer Supercell has backed new games studio Redly Games with pre-seed funding.

The Helsinki-based startup was founded by former Supercell game lead Theo Chow to “create deeply immersive adventures that inspire optimism and delight for millions of players".

The studio aims to use the investment to expand its team and continue work on a cross-platform 3D adventure game that's being built with Unreal Engine 5. The title is set to launch on mobile first.

Building something new

“Redly Games was born from a belief in games as a force for good, and a desire to build an innovative studio capable of tackling evolving industry challenges head-on," said CEO and founder Chow in a LinkedIn post

"Our mission is to create deeply immersive adventures that inspire optimism and delight for millions of players. We want our games to encourage cooperation, problem solving, and serve as a platform for positive change in our world."

She added: "The gaming landscape is evolving rapidly, presenting new challenges and exciting opportunities. I firmly believe that there is always room for well-craft games that spark curiosity and deliver engaging experiences for players.

"With our funding and the support of our investor, we're poised to tackle these challenges and create experiences that captivate players worldwide."
